INSERTION OF THE ARCHITECTURAL DEVISE IN A CHANGEABLE LANDSCAPE Part 2 Project 2003 Marco Aurelio Londoño Gonzalez National University of Colombia - Manizales campus | Colombia INSERTION OF THE ARCHITECTURAL DEVISE IN A CHANGEABLE LANDSCAPE This work reflects the importance that architecture can have on a fragile and vulnerable environment like the wetlands. After examining the environment, social, and economic necessities of the place, the theme of using recycling shipping containers as a tool was adopted to initiate the recovery of the nature reserve "Laguna de Sonso". For this objective it was proposed that architectural devises could respond adequately to the conditions of the changeable wet lands. It makes maximum use of the ambiances potential, social and economic concerns, tourist opportunities, and the public spaces the reserve can offer to the communities at the regional and local level. This graduate project: "Architectural Device in a Changeable Environment" joins the concepts of recovered or recycle artifacts with the characteristics of the wetlands. In this case-study the wetlands "Laguna de Sonso" are located in the Cauca River Valley in the western part of Colombia. The architectural solution considers the viability of using shipping containers in a fragile environment to serve as habitable buildings.
