Church and Parochial Center Project in San José neighborhood which is located in Manizales city. Part 1 Project 2003 Carolina ZapataLina Johanna Zapata National University of Colombia - Manizales campus | Colombia The project is based in the urbanistic intervention which allows the recuperation of a damaged building and no plastic value, supported with a new communitary services ground, importants for and appart area of the traditional down town of Manizales city (Caldas – Colombia).Ay the end, it has been relates with its surrounds, solving the context components and references, coherent with place identity, and using symbolical natural elements what enrich the religion philosophy. The Project responds in an appropriated way to the program outlined for the workshop of Architecture VI, in the existent building: the Church, as in the new building plant: the Parochial Center. Students pose interventions of town planning and architectural type in keeping with the morphologic characteristic of the place as urban net, architectural typology, construction`s heights, of the floor`s uses, among others. The church intervention achieves evaluating its plasticity and sense inside a certain context. On the other hand the Parochial Center is inserted in the consolidated square respecting and valuing the existent constructions.
