A Chance to Reclaim the Urban Bath Part 2 Project 2011 Mike Cox University of the West of England | UK The project hybridizes conventional leisure or consumption with traditional bathing through the ideas of ritual. The building is a hybrid of cultural exchanges and fuses the past, present and future through the rediscovery and re imagination of ritual practices associated with bathing. Rituals strip the user of their public personae and the building isolates them from the city allowing people to form new identities and social interactions through the shared experience of the ritual of bathing. The temperature of the water suggests the emergence of ritual, time, and paces the rhythm throughout the program. Mike Cox Tutor(s) Louis Rice
