Around 1/3 of Bulgarian population is concentrated in Sofia, so this makes public buildings essential for normal human interaction. This project proposes a museum of music, finding material traces of immaterial subject.

Site analysis:
The main characteristic of situation is its linking location, and there is an urban problem that the building in that place should solve: the connection between residential and public area. And it's not concerns the ancient problem public vs. private. It's always a question of people and groups in their interrelationship and mutual commitment. So I treated the building as a dynamic border (in variety of articulation of contact surface) to respond the human needs and to have the ability to take influences.

Organization of space:
The main defining force to structure the complex is different forms of interaction between people. The entrance space should be embodiment of direct connection between person and society. There persons interact each other simultaneously, without the needs of mediator. There take place a cafeteria, thematically bookstore, shops and trade stands. The next space is for mediated interaction, where communication between people is mediated by art. It contains main hall. And final space represents indirect connection. There remains only one side of process and mediator (art). The second part of interaction (author) is hidden and speaks only by his creations. This separation defines all combination of interaction between people and makes a gradual system for experience of the visitor.

Genesis of form:
Based on the characteristic of spaces proceed with building's appearance. I found a most responsive form in that case, and called it "double filter". The two filters are concentric of the primary element of building - the hall. One of them is situated along the periphery of the hall, and the other - along the periphery of the complex. They are in morphological and semantic interaction.

These filters create two different surfaces along the building. One is articulated, inviting people to interact with building and all of its parts, and the other is plain and intimate. This is obtained by twisting the pillars, the border is constructed by.
