The aim of the thesis is to create a scheme that re-imagines the post-industrial landscape of Spike Island in Bristol. By developing spaces which can be colonised by Bristols flourishing creative industries and maintaining the Island as part of the city's wider urban fabric, we hoped to form a new user - centric experience for both members of the public and private sectors alike.

By turning potential obstacles on an extremely challenging urban site, such as monumental warehouses and extensive highways into opportunities, we propose a scheme that recognises the industrial heritage from which it was born, whilst looking to the future by championing contextually relevant creative industries.

Through the conceptual driver of virtual game design, we've discovered that elements of play and games can be incorporated into architectural design to enhance our experience of place, leading us to conclude that the phenomenological experience of space, choice and freewill empowers and realises architecture.
