The Northern Ethnographic Survey of the Everyday: An archive and registry office for Shipley and Saltaire, West Yorkshire Part 1 Project 2016 Rachel Glenn University of Sheffield | UK This project explores what happens when we begin to treasure everyday items and records of ordinary people. The archive collects the objects and records of people who live in towns and villages along the Leeds - Liverpool canal. Its architecture bestows value upon collections of previously overlooked ‘everyday’ objects. It questions our existing attitudes to what we choose to commemorate.
