The Conditioned Environments of Equality

Part 2 Project 2016

Cooling technology has managed to stratify Singaporean society from the colonial past to the current age of air-conditioning. This proposal examines the themes of climatic justice and social inequalities to subvert understandings of a nation’s self-worth and comfort. Using the waste heat from the District Cooling system, two spaces of both the conventional and unorthodox variety are presented to the reader to decipher which might be of a true equality.
