Earthworks: Craft of Sedimentation in Post-mined Landscapes Part 2 Project 2016 Neringa Stonyte Cardiff University | UK This project is focused on cultural reclamation of a quarried site in Shropshire Hills using methodical excavation of displaced earth and rammed earth construction. Thesis concludes with examples how timber and soil are used to create inhabitable environments capable of revealing natural and social history of place, exhibit human aspect in methods of construction and take on the tectonic, atmospheric and thermodynamic qualities of the material.
