Rethinking Democracy in God’s Own Country Part 2 Project 2017 Matthew Bloomfield University of Sheffield | UK Speculating upon current political trends, the project imagines Yorkshire declaring independence from the UK, led by a charismatic yet demagogic Everyman. The design project proposes a Parliamentary Campus to house core political functions and a range of leisure facilities on a site in Sheffield. The work draws heavily on Harry Frankfurt’s essay On Bullshit, and as such acts as a critique of contemporary political culture and architectural reductionism. Tutor(s) Carolyn Butterworth
