Linear Abstraction: A New Approach to Urban Form on the City Edge Part 2 Project 2017 Li Zhen NgMatthew GadieAthina RalliKirsten Pont University of Dundee | UK The city edge is a landscape of contrasts. Urban, rural, industrial and infrastructural patterns of land-use collide and intersect to create a disordered collage, and a transient, shifting spatial experience. Focussing on one such landscape, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, the thesis project explores experimental methods of montage and juxtaposition in order to develop a new typology for urban expansion beyond the city edge.
