Future City Living: The Tobacco Warehouse Part 2 Project 2017 George FrostOliver Court University of Portsmouth | UK This thesis project investigates the creation of a sustainable community within an existing building. It considers how people can build into a communal identity with urban agriculture as the focal point. When the Tobacco Warehouse in Liverpool became vacant technology was insufficient to effectively grow food indoors. Research in systems like aquaponics has now progressed enabling vacant buildings to be utilised and renewed into community urban farming developments.
