Archaeological Mechanisms Part 2 Project 2017 Claire Longridge Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture | UK The ancient remains on the Athenic acropolis are usually imagined in pristine isolation, yet they coexist with an array of quasi-permanent mechanical structures dedicated to the ever-continuing process of the conservation of the monuments. This project, Archaeological Mechanisms, supplements this field of objects by inserting four new machinic devices that both amplify the process of conservation and provide new ways of viewing the temples and the city that surrounds them.
