Towards a Productive Landscape Part 2 Project 2018 Calum Ward Mackintosh School of Architecture | UK This thesis questions Madrid’s current unsustainable methods of waste recycling and food production within the urban environment. In response, the thesis proposes a more effective and efficient method, primarily focusing on using the city’s organic waste as valuable feedstock for the sustainable production of food. This proposition takes the form of a ‘waste-to-food’ plant, forming part of a productive landscape located in the Casa de Campo, Madrid’s largest public park.
