Part 2 Project 2018

This thesis project investigates how adaptive reuse and architectural intervention can create a generative dénouement for expired infrastructure under climate change. It envisions a transformative renovation of the ageing Thames Barrier in London, which would be decommissioned by 2050 due to rising flood levels. By providing an afterlife for this existing infrastructure, the public can experience the impact of global climate change.
