Materialising Sand: The Dunes, The Archipelago, The Beach Part 2 Project 2018 Derong Lin National University of Singapore | Singapore Gigantic sand dunes continue to pile as Singapore safeguards her sand resources amidst global scarcity. Shifting away from sand’s state narrative, three erratic sandscapes – a shooting range in the Dunes, party barges in the Archipelago, and an elevated Beach – emerge vis-à-vis our stockpile sites as a hyper-productive leisure infrastructure to recast sand’s muted politics as an emotively tactile material matter. Each intervention juxtaposes sand’s commonplace perceptions against its brute economics. Tutor(s) Lilian Chee
