??? Eco-Retreat Part 2 Project 2019 Fatmah Altabtabaei Kuwait University | Kuwait This project is an eco-retreat, under the name of ????? ? (rawh), that acts as a shield and a shelter. Replacing the current fence of Al-Jahra Pools Reserve with a concrete barrier, the retreat fortresses the Reserve in order to filtrate the people and therefore protect the natural habitats. Passive systems are the basis to create a comfortable micro-climate without the extensive use of electricity. By reducing the amount of electricity needed for operation, the building could sustain itself off grid with the aid of a proper electricity-generating system and water purification system. The materials are naturally sourced, so when the building's life cycle ends it would degrade peacefully returning back to nature with no harm to the environment. The retreat is where both human beings and migratory birds could find rest, serenity, and relief in the Reserve, and thus the name ?????? was chosen.
