A nation that forgets its past had no future. Every place has written great pages and dark pages in History. The battle, the blood, the sacrifice of our heroes to fight through the war for Malacca is something that we can never forget. Resilience is an Islamic Interactive Centre located in Malacca which is the historical state of Malaysia, rich with heritage buildings, landmarks and colonial structures. Resilience is designed as a centre that promotes the art of war and it makes users experience the timeline of the dark days to the victory days of Melaka with our interactive technologies. This is not a typical centre. Resilience is inspired by 'the shield' which is one of the weapons that is durable to protect oneself during the war and it represents the sturdiness of the building. The division of battle in the strategy of war creates the idea to design the building which has a centre, left-wing and right-wing. Tackling the issue of the site that is isolated, far from the main attractions in Melaka, Resilience is designed in a contemporary way and make it different from the buildings in Melaka which act as a hierarchy to attract more users.
