Part 1 Project 2020 Carlos Julio Guatame García Pontifical Xavierian University | Colombia The project is a Marketplace & Gastronomic Centre located in Usaquen, Bogota. Colombia. The idea is a result of an urban project that was planned for the working-class neighborhood Santa Cecilia and looks for the improvement of the population quality of life in a very crowded commercial area. The terrain is located inside the neighborhood close to a metropolitan connection and the building acts as a transition between local and global. The project considers natural elements such as a river and the emblematic eastern hills of Bogota where the neighborhood is located.People not only have access to the food market to stock up and sell goods, but also have the change to get education in gastronomy aiming to get an income and improve their way of life through the concept of "Social Mobility".Then, the building becomes a symbol of the neighborhood while feeds the inhabitants, educates them, gives them work and attracts tourist from the city helping to break the social gap that characterizes Bogota.
