The Object/s & The Object/s Part 1 Project 2020 Maryam MohammadFatmah Ramadhan Kuwait University | Kuwait The process began with two diagrams produced through operations of shifting, rotation, inflection, and boolean, which were then translated into autonomous three-dimensional objects. The objects were integrated via inflection and bool- ean operations to satisfy a dichotomous program of a residency for a marine biologist and an FX artist. The merged object was imbedded in a hill overlooking the sea, located in AlMutlaa, Kuwait. The project establishes a ground condition via platforms implanted in the hill, while the encompassing triangulated surface becomes a middle ground between the site and the object. Circulation separates the private and public spaces of the program. The private program for the residents consists of apartments, working areas, and a shared library overlooking the public platforms. Public areas are accessible via the lobby, which is indexed by a series of follies that showcase the work of the residents. The result is a series of objects connected vertically via cores and horizontally via walkways. Lines and fragments connect the objects as they index, create skin, and infinitely travel between the exterior and interior. The integration allowed both diagrams to coexist in symbiosis, which is found between the residents, the hill and the sea, and within the architecture itself.
