Hill of the Arts Part 2 Project 2020 Mihaela Kostadinova University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy | Bulgaria The project aims to create a complex environment in which artists and amateurs escape the madness of the city and get lost in the art world. The proposal fully preserves the existing architectural appearance of the villa. It is divided into four main areas. The terrain features are used, with the amphitheater seating emphasizing the visual connection of the complex and the city. The ateliers and workshops are an interpretation of the original places of creation - the caves. All functions and volumes are connected by an alley network, emphasized by a composition with exhibits. With their different heights, the pedestals recreate the vibration of the city, pulsing and spreading art in the villa. The main materials used are stone and brick - symbolizing history, metal and concrete - the vision of new architecture. The intervention in the interior decision of the existing villa is based on the return to the original appearance and the exposed signs of the time on it.Given all the factors and arguments the project’s goal shall form a place that fortifies the environment with new levels of culture, social life integrating old traditions and contemporary ways, while maintaining the characteristic profile of the location.
