Celebrating the Body Part 2 Project 2020 Rémy Debbaut Catholic University of Leuven | Belgium Engaging the nude through the anthropomorphic gesture. This master dissertation is an inquiry into the duality of body and space. An effort to create a dialogue through spatial gestures, impacting the body and the psyche. The historical site of the ice cellars in Ghent (Belgium) serves as a testing ground, the typology of the bathhouse as an alibi. Through my interventions I attempt to rid the dwellers of their shame about nudity and pride. It is my hope the ritual of bathing can regain its profound spiritual gravity, and become a social catalyst for the urban life in the city of Ghent.
