In modern times the relationship we have with food is largely anonymous with a reliance on unsustainable food production systems that exists out of sight and mind; diminishing how people value their food.

In its entirety, the Urban Farm exhibits the food production system through a transparent lens; visible to the public eye, creating a greater awareness for the need of sustainable agriculture to secure our future food supply, through the use of innovative technologies, optimizing land-use and minimising food miles.

In turn, the urban farm offers the opportunity to develop both social cohesion and environmental prospects for the local area of Shoreditch, London. Integrated with the farm is a proposed research and education facility - providing local citizens the necessary pedagogical tools for accessing information about healthier daily lives; learning to grow and cook their own produce.
