The Cycle- retrofuturistic project was created as a response to the United Kingdom’s sufficiency problem and developed regarding most of the sustainable goals to cut down carbon emissions, improve the self-sufficiency of the city centre and prepare it for 2050 climatic changes and demands.

The implementation of sustainable solutions was made possible with help of the Very Light Rail system used as a future and principal transportation mode for the users and as a mode of distribution for the produce proposed to grow in Pool Meadow Bus Station.

The proposal provides for the construction of an eco-factory in the city centre. Unlike the notorious factories of the past, this proposal focuses on the health and safety of the workers, community development, reuse of materials and finally, establishing a sustainable agricultural industry.

Thanks to architectural ideas and solutions such as water collecting columns and modular agricultural modules, the bus station will be turned into a sustainable enterprise providing water and food in the future. The new station project aims to achieve fluidity and flexibility of the building, which will be in constant construction changes to meet the future requirements and to be able for future redevelopment.
