Trenke. Drawing a New Landscape Part 1 Project 2022 Ronja Kessler University of Liechtenstein | Liechtenstein With the question, 'How can an architectural intervention, starting from the domain Wannaz, change and redraw the landscape of the vineyards of Lavaux?', begins the study of a landscape created by humans. In the middle of Lavaux you can find the domain Wannaz, a vineyard that has been run biodynamically for over 20 years. The domain of Gilles Wannaz appears like an island in the middle of the monoculture of Lavaux and serves us as a place, where we can draw the first lines of a new landscape by an architectural intervention. Through a vision of bringing back animal husbandry to Lavaux and the overlapping of green spaces and water veins with the building structure, a new landscape is formed. A landscape of permaculture. On the domain Wannaz island, which is already biodynamic, sheep are reintegrated into wine production and cheese is made from the milk obtained. A cheese factory to complement the rooms to produce wine can be created. The rooms evolve along the existing walls and continue them. A landscape ramp unites the themes of the space programme and shapes the landscape. A drawing of a new landscape. Tutor(s) Csaba Tarsoly
