FloatHouse Part 1 Project 2022 Caoimhe Sweeney Liverpool John Moores University Liverpool | UK FloatHouse; A BathHouse for Modern Living.FloatHouse as a concept is based on the idea that one can reach a secondary consciousness through the steady alignment of space. It is influenced by the ideology of a ‘body within a body,’ to reach the three stages of oneself; Lost, Understand and Self Awareness. These aspects are experienced by the user through Architecture in the form of release and compression. The design achieves this through therapy routes determined via physiological assessment, based upon which of the three journeys of healing to navigate; all of which containing a common central piece, Float Therapy.Float Therapy is the aiding of mental wellbeing and brain rejuvenation through the submerging of the user in a sensory deprivation tank.FloatHouse explores the opposite to what is considered human experiential architecture (engaging all senses). FloatHouse offers a complete detachment from the outside world through compressed and sensory deprived Architecture to encourage human release. Tutor(s) Aliki-Myrto Perysinaki
