The Singularity (Man Shall Not Rule Alone)

Part 1 Project 2023

The singularity, an epoch where technological progress outpaces human potential, presents Lebanon with an opportunity to transcend its current state of technological dearth.

Inspired by the sci-fi concept of the singularity and its representation as a gravitational center in space-time, this visionary endeavor gives rise to a captivating analogy, resulting in a warped Beirut map, dramatically curving around key landmarks, singularities of Beirut. Considering the weight and significance of these landmarks, the project strategically positions the main exhibition and planetarium, the singularities of the robotics hub, at the epicenter. Acting as the gravitational focal point, the planetarium attracts and redirects other zones within the hub, such as the main and special exhibitions, industrial and experimental zone, and the office building, towards a higher elevation that affords a panoramic view of the sea.

Visitors are presented with the unique opportunity to either explore specific zones independently or indulge in a holistic experience through a journey of ramps encircling the planetarium.

The project adheres to aspects of sustainability, social and environmental, through the design of gathering spaces and the interior structure and daylight respectively.

The process and physical model testing results in an environment that is educational, enthralling, and enticing.
