Tripoli, the Pearl of the North, has been an important trading and commerce center for centuries due to its strategic location. Being on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean, Tripoli served throughout history as a meeting place of civilizations and trade routes that linked the West and the East. However, its role and trade activities have declined with time for different reasons. This led to the project idea of a Mediterranean Trade Center that honors Tripoli's historical legacy, revitalizes the area as a hub for trade and cultural exchange, and showcases the city's unique identity to both residents and visitors.

Accordingly, the center shapes the harmonious blending of new and old architecture. The design respects the existing architectural fabric of Tripoli's Old City, incorporating traditional elements such as arches, courtyards, and intricate detailing, evoking a sense of nostalgia and cultural pride. The center's commitment to the heritage of the city is evident in the old train station building that serves as a home for exhibition halls, showcasing the city's cultural heritage and promoting local artisans and craftsmen. At the same time, contemporary design principles and sustainable technologies ensure the center's relevance and functionality in the modern world.
