Living Through Layers: In/On/Under Part 1 Project 2023 Emilia García Lozano Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Santiago | Chile Through initial experimentations in different housing typologies, internal green void helped organize space, visuals and movements in designs. The whole process was deeply characterized with a landscape component, modifying and affecting different ways of living. The final proposal consists of a collective residential space, with an initial operation of extending a virtual horizontal applying an acupuncture strategy regarding supports, with a strong belief respecting the site. Throughout this horizontal construction, in order to ingeniously blend with its surroundings, the architecture is pierced and enables the terrain to elevate its value and serve as delimited exterior for the recreation of the community holding multiple programs. Therefore, within the proposal, a sequence of houses bounded by a series of varying contained natural areas, mimics the pattern of its surroundings; the sequence of cliffs, always making a connection to the landscape and the natural reserve it sits on by the sea. Furthermore, these moments in which the constructed is punctured, becomes the most crucial and significant part of the motion. Meaning the conquer of a moment, which besides reconnecting with nature, it injects life to a community lifestyle intended in the residential ensemble.
