The city has pockets of high overall deprivation which include/relate to absurd housing costs, low pay, lack of skills and poor physical and mental health for residents in certain areas. One such place is Albion Hill, a post war housing estate in close proximity to the city centre. the estate consist of several tower blocks in poor condition, outdated space standards and no social or communal spaces. Many residents feel unheard in their complaints of such spaces by the council and therefore have taken their own initiative to improve their outdated estate.Taking inspiration from the works of Walter Segal and Samuel Mockbee they have come together to create a large community land trust to learn, build and most importantly share knowledge to improve their home. But where will this collective start?
