Essence over Excess Part 2 Project 2024 Nevena Velikova University of Liechtenstein | Liechtenstein The sustainable way of future urban planning is realistic only if issues and principles as climate adaptation, mobility, energy, social development, infrastructure and many more are taken into consideration, To be more specific for the built environment in the region, an existing neighbourhood is used and experimented with different special strategies to see how they affect not only the physical reality but also the community in this post fossil future. The neighbourhood that I worked on is situated in Vaduz, at a close distance from the central part of the city and at the same time is bordering the floodplains between the Rhine and the town. The project encourages a mindset of prioritization for what truly matters, aiming for radical of sealed surfaces and using the given ones as much as possible. At the same time development of social spaces and activities is also an important point. The new neighbourhood can serve as a framework for the future urban planning strategy for the region and be the essence to spread the sustainable plan of action.
