The Nature Factory Part 1 Project 2024 Peerada Liewchanpatana Central Saint Martins, UAL | UK The Nature Factory is intended to foster a symbiotic relationship between the light industrial production of Blackhorse Lane, local networks of artists, and the natural ecosystems of Walthamstow Wetlands. It redefines an existing industrial sites as a makers' hub where light industrial production and artistic workshops are enhanced, working as an intersection between productive, civic, and ecological landscapes and networks. Emphasising sustainable and innovative industrial practices, it integrates timber and ceramic workshops, a bio-lab, a materials library, and a wetland centre, while utilising new bio-based waste materials such as wine pomace as bricks, beer spent grains as insulation, reeds as cladding, wild clay, repurposed bricks, steel, and concrete as structural materials.By fostering collaboration among local stakeholders, the Nature Factory transcends the ecological thresholds of the city, bridging nature and the urban landscape through cultivating a regenerative ecosystem that integrates industrial land, artists, and wetlands ecologies such as reed bunds, grey herons, wagtails, etc. Peerada Liewchanpatana Tutor(s) Oscar Brito
