Timeless Hotel: Technological Design Methodology Part 2 Project 2024 Jin Sol Kim Korea National University of Arts | South Korea The project criticizes the lack of relaxation in modern society and proposes a resting place through architecture that considers time and movement. The project selects reclamation sites on the west coast of South Korea to point out the problems of coastal infrastructure destruction and human-natural interaction, and proposes a hotel as a sustainable structure, both on an island and on water. The hotel provides space in a connected or isolated way on the road and is designed to respond to various weather and climates. The ‘Timeless Hotel’ contains the ambivalence of our ‘social relaxation’ – the sense of belonging with individual freedom, the familiarity of freedom of movement and settlement, the expectation of periodic circulation and continuation, and the novelty of the moment. Criticizing the lack of rest space and the consequent problems, suggesting a better rest space is an alternative to solving problems in modern society. Tutor(s) Tae Young Kim
