My project focuses on 'Unconscious/ Unaware Rehabilitation'. Titled 'Crysalis Cove', it addresses drug addiction among young adults in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Leveraging the concept of 'subtle metamorphosis', it aims to create an inclusive space that encourages recovery through gradual, imperceptible architectural changes. These transformations influence behaviour, mood, and well-being, helping individuals without their conscious awareness of being in rehabilitation. This design moves away from the punitive environments of traditional rehabilitation centres and instead focuses on fostering community, respect, and belonging. Inspired by the Phoenix Multisport approach, which emphasizes physical activity and community support, the project incorporates spaces for fitness, social connection, and personal growth. Set along the scenic Bolgoda River, the site offers natural ventilation and spiritual surroundings, countering its challenges like pollution and flood risks. The design envisions a space where recovery is not a burden, but a natural, organic process embedded in the fabric of daily life.
