The Silvertown Winery

A winery in Silvertown acts as a threshold between two worlds, the one of the disused industrial land and the one of the new sprawling masterplans producing generic buildings. It provides a production and cultural programme for the city as well. Not only does it foster employment in the area, but it also brings knowledge and craftsmanship.

Conviviality at the table. Wine is a product made to be shared. After a harvest, during the production, etc., it is a catalyst for bringing new communities together
The neighbourhood’s terrace are being treated as a potential for expanding the vineyards. It brings more green area to the mid-rise buildings, but it also provide the residents with an outdoor activity
Harvest is the perfect example for a communal activity that brings together people and that create a relationship between them and the land. Here, unused spaces at Pontoon Dock DLR Station are covered with vines, adding an identity to the territory
