Dead Heat – Offshore Vertical Funerary Facility Part 2 Project 2017 Yigeng Wang National University of Singapore | Singapore The offshore crematorium addresses extreme future funerary demands. Whilst conventional burial activities are pollutive, the project integrates emission abatement and waste heat recovery technologies in the cremation process to convert ashes into compost for crop cultivation. Private wake halls for last rites are connected to reception decks overlooking the sea. The project is a celebration of the afterlife on a footprint one tenth of the area needed for land burials.
