Klang River, as the artery of the town, witnesses and contributes to the growth of the city. However, the unsustainable urban development causes the waterfront to be abandoned as they are disconnected and even neglected to the adjacent urban context. This project addresses the needs of Klang for a public space to regenerate the sense of place and challenges the notion of complete sustainability in the urban development.

“Bridge the Gaps”

The project establishes a cultural node at the town centre to revive the abandoned waterfront through the expansion of the Kota Bridge which enhance the culture fabric of project, while reconnect the waterfront to the context.

Introducing a connective urban tissue between the North and South Klang, the project reclaims back the city its public space to create a city that celebrates life through cultural activities. It brings the people to the start of the town, back to the heart of the city, and relooks back into their own root.
