Melancholia Part 2 Project 2017 Antonia Adjei-Mensah University for the Creative Arts | UK ‘Melancholia’ is a memorial landscape on the island of Poveglia, Venice. Between the 14th and 20th centuries, thousands of plague victims and mental health patients were quarantined, burned and buried on the island. The landscape features nearly 18,000 memorial slabs that centres around a structure identified as The Doctor’s House. The proposal is an eerie journey through a series of carefully curated monuments that encourage contemplation. Tutor(s)Mr John Bell
