We are currently witnessing a unequivocal climate change of dramatical global proportions. The design of a Climate.Change.Awareness.Centre is a proposal for a hub of information, education and stimulation to raise awareness and inform people of the current and predicted ecological disasters and their repercussions to our infrastructure, food and water resources. The site for the building is in a historic street of Athens that connects the Acropolis with Piraeus port and today is characterised by its rich industrial past and its emergence as a dynamic cultural hub.

The building design comprises of two distinctive organisation of volumes: the rectangular-shaped volume that aligns with the urban blocks of Piraeus str and the “cracked” pipes, arranged on the top, perpendicular to the street.
The building is recessed in the ground floor in order to invite the visitors from the street into the museum whereas the glass façade allows for the visual connection from Piraeus str through to the environmental park at the back of the plot.

The “cracked” pipes architectural form, allow for a variation of thematic's related to Climate Change to be presented in an experiential way while the lower ground floor acts as a forum of information exchange.
