The Towers of the Lyari River: Proposal for a Live-Work Community Karachi, Pakistan

Part 2 Project 2016
Ahmad Mohammed
University of Huddersfield | UK
The project addresses a slum community which occupies part of the river bank on the Lyari River, introducing a social system which provides housing and a means of sustaining a livelihood in the form of fabric making.

Self-build as well as systems which require a time based approach are seen as means of sustaining social cohesion. The architectural intent hopes to foster a focus toward prosperity and not just survival.
