Today 32% of the city centre is in a state of decay. In response, The Massarellos School of Construction provides students with the necessary skills to successfully rehabilitate the city’s sensitive urban fabric.Set amongst the derelict remains of a former factory, it draws influence form historic warehouses and local Portuguese buildings, becoming a model for creative reuse and sustainable construction.
