The project focuses on repurposing the historic ATM-Tramdepot Ticinese in Milan, integrating housing and commercial spaces while maintaining the depot’s functionality. The dense tram network in Milan offers unique redevelopment opportunities for large, often hidden industrial structures. Essential for vibrant urban life, the combination of production, administration, and residential spaces in the city centre is emphasized. The project aims to balance the depot's existing use with new residential spaces. The design retains the original building’s architectural language, with three new residential blocks added on top to preserve the tram operations. A supermarket and restaurant in the courtyard create a social hub for residents and workers.

The project's concept is based on the high demand for housing in this area. The three new residential blocks are integrated into the existing architectural framework of the depot, ensuring continuity and coherence. The central building houses apartments with multiple bedrooms, while the front block near the courtyard contains single apartments suitable for student housing. The rear block serves as a large office space. The courtyard features a park and dining options, enhancing the communal atmosphere. This approach fosters a sustainable, community-oriented urban development, respecting the historical significance of the existing structure while addressing contemporary urban needs.
