‘Subterranean Singapore 2065’ is a speculative underground master plan for the city-state of Singapore. The filmic project proposes a cavernous subterranean architecture comprising modular super frame structures and monumental inflatables sustaining artificial weather, which enables dwelling on a national scale. It highlights the controversial politics of prestigious state-driven architectural mega projects, juxtaposing the technocratic state’s glossy vision with the darker lived experience of the foreign workers delivering it.
