The vernacular is strangely timeless. Commonplace to the place it exists in and foreign outside its context. What happens behind closed doors in the home remains out of the public domain. These structures seemingly stand as isolated towns. Off the grid from larger support systems working in an extreme localized system. What lies beyond the walls of these conglomerated houses is changing the landscape of Iceland.

What lies within the walls of these conglomerated houses, is changing the landscape of Iceland.
We analyzed different scan conditions; cataloging the various typical and atypical distortions. This drone scan from above highlights density of heat activity within the cluster.

Scalar land section scan. There is activity within the cluster.
Very dense light conglomerations/clusters are evident in the light density mapping of 2052, as seen by satellite.
There are no signs of roads to the clusters. These localized conditions are often adjacent (within 100 km) to small villages.
The light pollution generated by "villages" at 250 km (above local ground elevation) makes it imperceptible to accurately read the aerial imagery for further details.
