A Space for Life: Development of Age-Friendly Housing Part 2 Project 2021 Maja Ghannoum Polytechnic University of Milan | Italy This thesis sensitively addresses a highly topical and urgent design issue: demographic ageing and its implications in the definition of new residential models.The thesis develops a housing proposal that is particularly attentive to the needs of the older people, in a peripheral area of Milan.The residential complex presents an articulated volume, which defines a series of different urban spaces. It resumes and updates certain typologies and stylistic features of twentieth century Milanese architecture, proposing inclusive spaces and configuring differentiated living units placed in close relation with connecting spaces intended to encourage moments of shared collective life.
