‘Sculpting the Void’ is about exploring the potential of Stoke-on-Trent to redevelop itself after industrial decline in the Mid-20th Century. The city is known for it’s ceramic industry and heritage, but what is the role of this craft in a digitalising world? The building aims to bring craft, modern manufacturing, education and public amenities together to form a catalyst for the city’s re-emergence as a centre for ceramic innovation.
