Urban Dam: Mechanism of Change Part 1 Project 2024 Bojana Ristivojcevic University of Belgrade | Serbia The project is based on a concept that reflects the mechanism of change in the immediate surroundings of the built urban space through its form. The main theme, an urban barrier, is located in the heart of a city that has undergone intense urban and social transformations over time. These changes have led to conflicts between new and existing urban entities. The project's mechanism is designed to stimulate communication between these spaces through its form, acting as a barrier for change and a connector between them. Simultaneously, the structure functions as a barrier that directs the relationships within the city centre. The architectural concept integrates adaptable and transformable elements, allowing the structure to not only respond to environmental changes but also anticipate future transformations. The project is based on the principles of deconstructivism and its ideology, further emphasizing the playful nature of the architecture and its ability to reflect complex relationships within the urban context.
