The building brings the pit to the surface, reconstructing it with remnants of the historic center. By reassembling lost symbols and materials, it preserves the community's collective sorrow and resilience, linking the city's history with its present and future.The building stands as a gesture of resistance, preserving the memories and echoes of a vanishing city. Strategically located, it will be one of the last constructions standing as the city expands and the pit grows. It honors the victims by incorporating elements from the historic center and reconstructing lost symbols.Named after the melancholic genre 'Muliza', the project strives to create something worthy of this emotional art form. The building's functions address the challenges posed by the mine, integrating sustainability and heritage preservation. The design arises from understanding the city's problems, deeply connected to its coexistence with the mine.As the Integrated Center for Sustainability and Heritage, the building serves three main functions: an interpretation center to preserve heritage, an environmental control center to manage mine pollution, and a community center that integrates these uses, allowing technology and interpretation to reach the population.
