Digitised Prefab Prototype Laboratory (Profab Lab) Part 2 Project 2019 Kamal Mohd Idris MARA University of Technology - Puncak Alam campus | Malaysia PROFAB LAB is designed to promote and celebrate IR4.0 revolution, Malaysia as an international developed prefabrication construction district through the use of latest technology. High dependency on foreign workers has caused problems and stagnation of the development of IR4.0 prefab construction technology in Malaysia. Located in TECHNOLOGY PARK BUKIT JALIL, the project highlights architectural thinkers as construction technology researchers while adapting PILLAR OF IR4.0 elements such as AI, Cloud Data, Robotic Automation and the other five technologies that will enhance future construction industry. Pioneering as a smart, intelligent and sustainable laboratory, PROFAB LAB is 59.9% operated by robotic process automation technology that caters and produces an approximately 200 prototypes per year. PROFAB LAB provides four types of laboratories that resemble actual condition of various type of constructions; Underground Lab (hydraulic drilling system), Underwater Lab (submarine technology), Vertical Lab (hydraulic scissor lifting system) and Anti-Gravity Lab (aerospace technology). The testing ground is the crucial part of PROFAB Lab with its movable fins that are motion and light responsive for testing of prototypes and public views. The concept of 'Digitize Transparency’ allows robotic prefab technology system to maximise the potential of future IR4.0 technology and minimize the dependency on foreign workers.
