Death, Dust and the Deluge Part 1 Project 2017 Callum Rae London South Bank University | UK This project is located on Isola di San Michele; the historical home to the Camaldolese Catholic order and the first Renaissance Church in Venice. The island was re-appropriated to house the dead in 1469. My project proposes that as the number of Camaldolese monks at their new hermitage in Tuscany is dwindling, returning to the island would provide a more suitable space for them to continue their work.
