Hacking Fracked Real Estate

Part 2 Project 2017
Troy Lacombe
Columbia University | USA
This project hacks into real estate and technological practices of fracking, generating an ecosystem of cleaner Enhanced Geothermal Systems within the Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania. A traveling university materializes, responding to fracking’s detrimental impact on one of the nation’s leading horticology industries. Governed by centralized citizen research, residents collaborate with universities funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. Heat energy integrates rural domesticity with hacked technologies giving agency to residents.
